What is a target audience? A target audience is the specific group of people that you want to reach with your marketing.
If you want your marketing to appeal to this group of people, you need to make sure you create everything with them in mind.
How do you know if your target audience likes you? Do you connect with them in a way that works?
One of the biggest challenges we “Parallel-preneurs” encounter is making sure we speak to our target market. It’s important that we talk to the right people, or what we call our potential customers.
Nowadays, it’s easier to connect with your target audience by using social media platforms. You might be the person performing the latest Tiktok dances, doing some voice-over reels, or showing your daily life online. I have no objection to that.
But if you are not exactly someone like me who focuses more on educating people rather than entertaining them, then I am sure you are always wondering if your style really works and does not bore some people.
To really understand this, we are going to discuss 3 ways to engage your audience.
1. Ask your target audience questions.
The better you know your audience, the easier it will be for you to connect with them. There is no better source of information than getting it directly from your past clients, current clients, and the people you want to work with. By asking questions, soliciting their feedback, and gathering information from them, you’ll gain invaluable insight that will help you fully understand the needs of your target audience.
2. Focus on their needs
When you ask questions and get more insights from them in return, you will be able to fully understand your target audience. This way, you will know how to connect your service to what they really need. So when you work on your offering or make changes to your current offering, you can design it to be based on what they need.
One of the mistakes that many companies make today is that they focus mainly on the features of their services instead of focusing on the outcome of what you are leading them to the transformation that you are providing through your service. So make sure that your services are always focused on the needs of your target audiences.
3. Publish your testimonials
Publishing your testimonials from your past and current clients will give your future clients valuable information. It will give them an idea that you can really deliver your services, aside from the fact that it will save them time from thinking too much to decide if you are really the right one for their needs. The testimonials they are about to read will immediately confirm your effectiveness, credibility, and work ethic.
Defining your target audience will give you a clearer idea of who really needs your service and who you can most effectively target.
Be profitable and be blessed!
