Do you hate selling? Or when you think of selling something to someone, does the thought makes you uncomfortable? Do you have a funny feeling that it will not be as successful as you would like it to be?
In this article, I am going to give you some sales tips to help alleviate that feeling.
One of the best pieces of business advice that will help you when that “I hate selling” mentality catches up with you is simply this: Do NOT Rush The Process.
This may not sound like great advice, but believe me when I say that it has been essential for me over the years and has helped many of my clients get a better result.
Slow Down
Sometimes when someone is interested in your products or services, the urgency of that business is so great that you want to close it immediately. You are so persistent to help the customer make the right decision. But my advice is to take it down a notch. I have seen this happen, and I have also seen a lot of parallel entrepreneurs do the same thing. When you have met a person who could benefit from your service, you jump right into the sale without really understanding what that person needs and whether your service is what they really need at the moment. And in some cases, when the contract did not materialize, it shakes your confidence and makes you feel bad for your potential client.
Sometimes that mix of conviction and motivation can work against us. There is always a fine line between encouraging a person to make the right decision and rushing such a decision. When that line is crossed, our feelings change radically, our confidence drops, and we become unsure.
Avoid Rushing the Process
Do not you know that much of your stress and anxiety in sales comes from trying to close the deal too quickly. In any business, personal or professional, you need to build a strong and trustworthy relationship with your prospect or customer, and you need time to do that. Let them get to know you and try to get to know them as well. Let them know who you are to gain their trust. Be punctual, learn to respect their time. If you say you will be there at 8pm, you need to be there on time. If you say you will offer them these types of products and services, offer them the best you can ever offer. Keep your word, always be truthful with every word you say to them. Show the customer who you are and have a genuine conversation that is not just about closing a deal. It’s important to take a moment to connect with your customer. Just let him know that he can always count on you on a personal level.
There is always time for everything
You do not have to put pressure on yourself, but you can take the time you need to close a deal. When the time is right, you will definitely get it done. Again, do not rush things and always trust the process.
