I know most of us fall into the unpleasant habit of finishing the content we started and along the way we do not feel like doing it anymore. Producing high-quality content takes a lot of practice and determination, so it is important to start something consistently to keep the momentum going and thus gain the art of mastery.

Here are the 7 tips that will help you to create consistent content.

1. Focus on one task at a time.

If you want to be consistent in more than just content, you need to stop multitasking. You need to focus on one task at a time. Although this takes a lot of practice and is not automatic, remember that we live in a very fast-paced world where everything moves very quickly. Focusing on one thing at a time may be daunting and overwhelming at first, but it will help you in the long run.

2. Create an outline before you begin

Creating an outline before you begin will definitely save you time and energy. Give yourself a week or two to outline your thoughts and ideas and get as much done as possible within that time frame. Setting yourself a time limit will help you maintain the momentum or sense of urgency to finish what you have started.

3. Create a schedule

Make sure you stick to the schedule you create. For example, if you are a writer, make a commitment to write an article for 30 minutes to 1 hour every day or write an article twice a week. Try to write as often as possible each day to give yourself the space and time to exercise your creative muscles. Remember that imperfect action is still an action. Whatever you set out to do, do not negotiate it.

4. Stick to the schedule

Learn to focus on the schedule you have set for yourself. Take a look at your calendar or planner each week and planning ahead definitely helps. I am a strong planner. I love to plan. It’s always best to plan on a quarterly or monthly basis so you know what project is due and requires your full attention. That way you can create a plan for yourself that you can stick to and that will help you stay on schedule and get the plan done. Remember, if you fail to plan, you plan to fail. See how you can stick to the schedules you set for yourself. Just as you show up for your meetings or other important events, make sure your appointments are a priority for you. After all, this contributes to the visibility of your brand.

5. Use a Project Management  System

This will allow you to organize your ideas, record them and plan ahead. Depending on your choice, this can be done manually or electronically. It does not matter as long as it helps you with your project’s workflow and guides you through the process of starting and completing a project.

6. Plan ahead

Planning ahead definitely goes a long way. I am a strong planner.  I love planning. It is always best to plan on a quarterly or monthly basis so that you will be able to know which one is due and required your full attention.  You will be able to create your own blueprint for yourself that you can follow and help you stick to the schedule and get the plan out there. Remember if you fail to plan, you plan to fail.

7. Create and refine your workflow

Create and refine your workflow. Create a checklist for your content. Having a checklist will make your workflow more reliable and realistic. The process of completing your work will evolve over time, but it is important to give yourself clues as to what steps you need to take to get closer to completing your assignments or finishing.

For example, if you make videos as I do, your checklist might look like this:

a. Research topic

b. Keywords / SEO

c. Outline

d. Write notes

e. Record video

f. Create thumbnail for YouTube

g. Create description

h. Publish

i. Promote

I hope I was able to help you create your content consistently.
