Do you have systems?
Welcome to the Nef Nugget, where I give you one tip that will inspire you act and motivate you to move. I am Nefateria Fonda’ . I’m a business and sales coach for parallel-preneurs. Those are professionals who are building a service based business of their own, while working. You can be a coach or consultant, an organizer or interior decorator. We need to know each other. As your coach, I’m the coach you want to turn to when you want to get clear on who you serve and how you serve them, confident in your selling skills. So you can bring cash into your business. And on today’s Neff nugget, we’re talking about systems, save yourself, time, energy, and money. One of the things is that my clients don’t have a lot of time because they’re juggling their passion as well as their profession. That being the case, I always advocate for them to put systems into place. I introduced them to systems and things that will help them save themselves some time, energy, and money. Today we’re talking about the one system that can help them save time and that is a scheduler. Yes. How many times were you supposed to schedule a discovery session with a potential client or set up a connection chat with someone you met at a local networking event and the conversation went something like this? What day? Maybe Tuesday. Oh, that doesn’t work. What about Thursday? Oh, Thursday is perfect. It’s 2:00 PM work. Hmm..Nope. I have something planned for that day. It was a whole lot of back and forth because you both were trying to plan time or give time-based on just pulling a date and time out of thin air, or just the calendar. Right? So if you put a scheduler in place, you can set that schedule up so that it blocks out time that you’re unavailable. It puts in your office hours. You can even set it up so that it has time set aside for particular events or particular things that you want to be available for, for your clients. You can even collect payments through your schedule. So why have you not set up a system? Is it because you’re not, you feel you’re not ready for that step. If you’re currently taking clients that you haven’t phone conversations with them, you are ready for the step. Is it the fear of learning a new system? Well, you’ve had to learn new things before and as a business owner, you’re constantly learning because things are constantly changing and you’re constantly growing. Is it scared that you won’t be able to maintain it? You may overlap in your appointments? Well, once you put a good foundation in place, like anything else, you’ll be able to maintain it. If you use that as your primary scheduling system, don’t have multiple calendars where you always having to refer from different places, make sure that that schedule, even if you do have multiple calendars, maybe you have a calendar of your husbands or your children or other activities. Just make sure that the scheduler reflects everything that your time has been allotted for. So then when you do have someone go to your schedule to schedule discovery session with you or connection chat with you, they actually see the availability that you have at that time for that particular month. I do get it. You don’t want to know it. You don’t want to spend the time. You don’t want to sit and make the time for it not to learn another thing, right? Oh boy. But what can I tell you? It’s part of business. You got to learn new stuff. And if you don’t take the time, you’re going to be constantly taking the time to go back and forth with somebody trying to find the exact day or exact time that works. And God forbid, if you set up a time and guess what you find out you’re on vacation or your child has a doctor’s appointment, or yes, you and your husband’s date night, whatever that may be. So if you take the time now to learn the system, then you don’t have to worry about having those dreadful conversations. Like I know we scheduled a time to talk about how I can help you in your, your business or help you organize your home or the service that you provide, but we’re going to have to reschedule. Then you go and you start that whole back and forth all over again. So I want you to start thinking about how it will feel not to have to do those rescheduling conversations that your schedule is set up. When people go to book an appointment, you know that on Tuesday, that’s your client’s day. So any appointments you have on Tuesdays are for clients or your connection chat days are on Friday. So anything that you have on that day is connection chat, and you can be in that mode. How would that feel for you? Think about it just for a moment.
