1 reason you may be overwhelmed

May 23, 2019 | Business

“Good morning and welcome to Nef Nugget where I give you 1 tip that will inspire you to ACT and ACT is an acronym for activate your faith, commit to a plan and take action. So let me properly introduce myself. I am Nefateria Fonda and I’m a sales coach for Christian business owners who are looking for better strategies to turn their leads into clients just like some of you, the only problem is your only thought is when you create it they will buy it. I truly believe that you deserve to have a bank account that reflects all the long hours, sleepless nights and countless sacrifices that you have made to build the business of your dreams. Together we’ll create an overall strategy to help you write and talk about your business with potential clients you can sell with confidence and make more money.

So today we’ll talk about the one reason you may be feeling overwhelmed. Do you say yes when you should be saying no? Do you say nothing to a request thinking that it will go away just to find out later that you have voluntarily saying yes without saying nothing at all. Do you say yes and then finding out an excuse to get out of saying yes to whether to your spouse, your kids or even your dog. Imagine no longer be overwhelmed by the things that are not even on your to do list.

So let’s talk about it. It’s because you’re not saying one simple thing, that one simple word is no. It’s universal in any language, no means no. You may not just blatantly say no to a request that comes to you so I’m gonna give you a way to analyze and assess the request that you receive on a daily basis from friends, families, customers or whatever, and business colleagues to determine if its something you should say yes to or something that you should just flat out say no. The acronym that I’m going to use today is SMART. S stands for significant, M stands for meaningful, A stands for action oriented, R starts for rewarding and the T stands for time bound. When you get a request, think about is it significant? But don’t just stop there then find out is it meaningful? Is it something that means a lot to you. Ask yourself what do you have to do to make this happen. List whatever it is that it may take for you to do it.

So maybe it’s pick up your niece at the airport, that’s probably significant to you, you probably wouldn’t mind doing that. Is it something that means a lot? Of course, you want to spend time with your niece and make sure she’s safe. Now what would it take for you to make that happen? You might need to know when she’s gonna arrive, what airport, get some information, talk to the parents to find out what the information is.  And also what are you getting out of saying yes? Is it gonna be a rewarding experience if you say yes. And how much time will be required if you do this thing? Time is the one thing we can’t give back. Everything else if we lose it you can get it back but time once its gone its gone.  Even though it may be significant in my life, and it made me some type of reward, what kind of time, how much time is required for me to be able to complete this task? So those are the things that you need to ask yourself if you get a request and you don’t want to flat out say no, you need to take your SMART investment and find out if this is a thing that you should say yes to or is it a thing that you should say no to.

Let’s recap, the S stands for significant. Is this significant to you? The M stands for meaningful, is this something that means the whole lot for you? The A stands for action oriented, what would it take for your to make it happen. The R stands for rewarding, what do you get out of saying yes? The T stands for time bound. How much time will it require for you to finish this thing. So I hope it helps you to not getting overwhelmed. Sometimes we get overwhelmed just because we say yes to too many things. We don’t consult our inner self, we don’t consult our calendar, and we just say yes. Sometimes you get overwhelmed because you do all these things.

So I appreciate you and thank you so much for taking the time today to watch this Nef Nugget where I give you 1 tip that will inspire you to ACT, activate your faith, commit to a plan, and take action. And I want you to know that you truly believe that you deserve a bank account that reflects all the long hours sleepless nights and countless sacrifices that you made.”
